A history, by Ed Jeffs

Ed Jeffs’ extensive and well-researched history of the Lake Lucille area extends from the 1700s through 2004. It’s a fascinating read for anyone who’s interested in how we got to where we are today.

The Lake Lucille Realty Company produced this brochure to entice people to buy cottages and bungalows in our area. Over a lot of water has gone over the dam since then, it will still give you a sense of pride to live here.

Based in part on an 1876 map of Clarkstown, this early-40s map shows the location of historic buildings and includes a list of artists that lived on this historic road.

2003 Journal News article

Based largely on an interview with Ed Jeffs and the 1928 brochure, Julienne Marshall wrote this interesting article about the Lake Lucille community for the Journal News. It was published on March 7, 2003, and it covers many of the historic moments contained in Ed Jeffs’ full history.
