Our entrance gets a spring cleaning

The community entrance on Lucille Blvd. is looking a lot spiffier now. First, McDermott and Sons repaved the apron off of South Mountain Road, which was in poor shape. Then, our weathered entrance sign was redone. And most recently O&R finally repaved the blacktop on either side of the dam, which had been disturbed when they’d replaced the gas lines a couple years ago. Overall, the work creates a more welcoming entrance to Lake Lucille.

The venerable sign was painstakingly restored by Robert Kupris, of Furniture Repair and Restoration. Robert spent a couple days stripping off the old finish, thoroughly cleaning its front and rear, repainting the colors, and applying a new finish. Overall, it now has a fresher, brighter look..
